Reunion.

29th April 2005

Didn't do much in the morning, just do the usual driver routine.

Had dinner in Pizza Uno, Centrepoint to celebrate Mother's Day with Aunt family. Ordered Carbonara Fettucine. So full..

Tried Sangria. Mixture of fruit juice, red wine and brandy. The alcohol is not so strong, but it taste weird..lol.

After dinner went down to Cititel Hotel, Midvalley to meet up with my A Level classmate, Dru, from Kuching. Haven't seen her ever since A Level's graduation.

Thanx Karen for sending me there. Though she was very pissed with the traffic because there were road blocks everywhere when she's trying to turn into Sunway. Untill now I'm still not sure what's the cause of it but all I know is that there's some drifting competition down in Extreme Park. Karen is even more pissed when the ticket vending machine in Midvalley carpark is all fucked up. All the "MCB".."MH".."D"...

Room 2120. No door bell..!! *Knock Knock*

"Who the hell knock the door like that?", says Nicole. (Ex-classmate)

"Who else come in at this hour? (11:30pm)", says Dru.

*Door flung open*

HUGS.................................Omg..Omg..Ah....hugss...hugsss..

In the room, there's Sassy Nicole, Crazy Steph, Hamsap Su-Zhen, Chubby Kenny with his pretty girlfriend, Elaine and long-time-no-see DRU!

Table full with glass and Vodka..

Old friend reunion, chit-chatting, stories telling, news updating and gossiping..

Sunway University College VS UCSI

Orientation for May Intake at UCSI started 27th April 2005. Time was scheduled at 10 am, I reached at 11 am.

Lift to 2nd Floor took so long.
"Ding"
The lift stink! Someone must have farted..Air ventilation not satisfactory.

Reached 2nd Floor, Recital Hall. Got my registration done, collected my folder, Nestle soya milk + carrot milk. Strange we only got nestle's sponsorship this intake. My brother had Celcom xPax starter kit among other goodies he got for January intake. Hmm... Besides, the Nestle newly launched soya+carrot milk..bad combination I must say.

Checked the schedule of the day I've gotten in the folder.

Very well, 11:15 am, Student Counsel Briefing by Mr. Dominic Luk. I thought I was lucky to skip all those speeches by whom, whom and whoever. But oh well..typical Malaysia culture - it started late.

Recital Hall was packed with students! Mostly Chinese. Was it good or was it bad? I'll conclude you after I tell you all the stuffs I've gone through. As I said, it started late. Speeches were still on. Checked. 2 more to go. Butt aching..Wasn't paying attention onto the speeches. Reckon it won't benefit me in any way. So I ended up looking through other documents in that folder.

Speeches on going..
Applause..
Next speech..
Applause..

"Sigh, when is this going to end?"

Checked my watch, 11:45 am. Next session is Security Briefing by Mr. Abu Bakar.

Students were given 5 minutes break. I took this opportunity to get away from the Security Briefing. Went down to cafeteria for brunch. The cafeteria was so small it makes me cry! I think it can barely hold 40 students. 30 the max. It was so warm in there too! As compared to Sunway's cafeteria, whoa! Huge difference. Sunway's was so big I suppose it can accomodate about 100-150 student. The food, needless to say, Sunway's was way better. Now that I heard after the recent renovation, Sunway has its own Starbucks now. Gosh..Why didn't they have it when I was there for A levels?

After lunch, I got back to Recital Hall for the next important session which I must get myself to attend. Course Selection. Now that it's lunch time, the Recital Hall was quite empty. So I just sat down there listening to a girl playing piano. She's good. After about, hmm...20 mintues? Students slowing parade their way into the Hall again.

First batch to go, School of Music down to Gound Floor for their Theory and Aural placement test. Everything went smoothly.

Second Batch, English Placement Test (EPT) for those who scored any lower than A1 & A2 in SPM English and foreigners. The lecturer open for Q&A. One of this student, a Chinese girl, asked to clear her confusion as the Marketing Department says she's excluded from the EPT but her letter of acceptance says she has to sit for it. THe lecturer then asked what grade she's got for SPM English? She said, 7D.

*Shocked*
7D for Malaysia English examination standard. I consider it very badly done. As I personally think that SPM English is so easy! Sigh..In Sunway University College, a credit for English is compulsory to enrol into any courses.

Next to go, School of Engineering. I realise it's all guys! Have to really say that guys are better off in Mathematics and Physics.

Next, School of Management, followed by School of Applied Science and then it's me, School of Liberal Arts and Social Science. BA (Hons) Mass Communication.

We proceed to 1st floor for our course selection. Psychology students and Mass Comm students were divided before briefing of courses were given. I sat beside this girl, dressed in pink. She started introducing herself. "Anna Anna Anna." Shook her hand and said, "Hi, I'm Christine." So I continue to ask her if she's in Psychology or Mass Comm? She said Psychology. I thought, "Not bad"..Continue to talk to her..she suddenly snap in saying, "ERm, can you speak Mandarin?" I replied in Mandarin, "Of course." Conversation all in Mandarin and Cantonese.

When I was back in Sunway, I used to start speaking to classmates in Mandarin on the first day before they asked to converse in English. Not long later, we all spoke English to each other. I was somehow expecting the same thing to happen in UCSI but I guess I was too damn wrong. No wonder my brother's Cantonese got so good after studying Biotechnology there for a year. Sigh..

Subjects for 1st Semester of Mass Comm:
Sociology
Interactive Literacy Communication
Organizational Behaviour
Basic Photograpy

Somehow or rather, I don't feel the challenge in UCSI. If it's not for their combination of major track in PR, Advertising and Event, I guess I wouldn't have been in there.

Just pray hard that the lecturers are good.
Wish me luck. I'll need that.

Hush Little Baby...

2:10 pm, at Mom's office in Kelana Jaya.
Friends at SS2 lepak-ing. No car. So near yet so far.

Oh what day! Sigh..Poor little Anna have to go hospital again. This time to Gleneagles Intan at Jalan Ampang. Had an appointment with Dr. Husni, Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist. Anna complained for hearing noises when she sleeps at night. My grandmother, again with her traditional remedies, make Anna drank so much bird nest, but it hadn't help a bit. That makes her worry.

"Mrs. Chua, how long has this been?"
"I'm not too sure, but Anna said it's been quite some time, probably a year ago, but she only voice it out recently."
"Alright, lets see what's wrong inside there."

*Insert some tiny scary metal thingie into Anna's ear*

On the monitor, whoa! It's......yuck.

"Alright Mrs. Chua, there you see this *pointing his wand in circular motion onto the screen* is fluid behind the ear drum. In fact, Anna is right, this must have been in here for quite some time."

"What exactly is that fluid there?"

"Ok, has Anna been experiencing flu and cough?"

"Yes, very often recently."

"Yes. See, when phlegm gather around this tube in here, the air passage is blocked therefore causing the pressure to be low. When this happen, it will suck out the fluid from the blood vessels and gather around here. *Again, waving his wand in circular motion* After some time, it will thicken like glue and got stuck in here. I'm sure hearing is down."

"Doctor, is it very serious?"

"Well, not exactly. This is very common among children. But for her case, I'll have to put her under 6 weeks medication because her left ear is totally covered with the fluid, and the right is starting to build up. If this thing persist, it might cause deaf."

"Oh.... *sobs*

"Don't worry Mrs. Chua, it's different from what happened to Mr. Chua. This is nothing cancerous. I'll put her under Antibiotic and Syrups, after 3 weeks I'll review her. If the medication won't reduce the fluid, I'll have to put a tube in the ear drum and drain it out, like what Mr. Chua did last time. But nonetheless, need not worry. This is very common among children"

"Ok, Thank you Doctor."

"Aiyor Mommy, now have to jaga my feet and the ear. So mafan!"
"Yes la, you becareful with what you eat ok? And make sure you drink more water."
"Orh....."

Now Anna is in school. Will visit her during recess later at 3:30 pm.

Sleepy.

Useful Tears.

7:47 am, awake, sad.

Ever since I've gotten my license, the burden of sending my sisters' to school has therefore landed on my shoulder. Again, this morning my sister poke me hard enough to wake me up and drag me onto the car to send her. Thank goodness there's no traffic on a Saturday morning. Heck! Why the fuck is she going to school on a Saturday morning? Damn, must confront her when she's back. Oh no, can't. Have to work. Guess where? It's at Guess. Lame joke. But I'll just laugh at myself anyway..haha! It's so god damn early in the morning, can't expect me to behave like a normal human being yet.

Speaking of that lame joke, it actually happened when this friend of mine asked me what I've been doing for my 3 months break? I said, "I'm working." He asked, "Where?" I answered, "Guess" Then he goes, "Err, MNG again?" I said, "No, Guess." And that bodoh go say something else. So end up I said, "I'm working at G.U.E.S.S?, the US brand, you know the one with Paris Hilton's barbie doll face printed on a bag???" Finally he goes, "Ohhhhh....!!" ............................. Then suddenly he asked, "Who's Paris Hilton anyway?"

Righto, back to my subject. Useful tears. Damn!

I was stopped by this Police while I was driving myself home just now because I langgar lampu, KUNING! Waaa @#$%&%$ Apa lan jiao! I was scared obviously. Eh, don't give me that kind of face, P license, first time got stopped. I thought there's something that could get me outta this so I spoke to him but this Bugger asked my license, took out this green piece of shit, SAMAN. Oh fuck.

I asked what will happen to my license? He said I need to carry P for another 2 more years and pay RM300. That's bloody hell lotsa money man!! At that point I was seriously shocked, don't know what to do. So naturally when I'm scared, tears flow out of my control. I didn't do it on purpose OK? Serious. Though I remembered reading it somewhere in Cosmo. HA! Then to my delight, he tossed my license back and said, "Ah, jangan nangis. Ini bagi amaran. Jaga-jaga bila pandu, tau?"

Relieved. Gosh, that was scary. I actually can't stop crying for another 30 seconds before I took off again. Phew~

8:09 am, back to sleep.
Muscles aching. Fitness First rocks!

Doctors could be the best Murderers.

My little sister, Anna, has just got back from tuition. And that reminded me of something which I must say. LOL

See, yesterday, we had guests from our church for a visit, and after a wonderful lunch consisting of yummy Hokkien Mee, Curry Chicken and Pizza, Anna brought her plate back to the kitchen. Since we had our air conditioner on, so the kitchen door was closed. Anna was holding a plate with a cup on top, and so she called the maid to help her with the door. Unfortunately, our maid has turn deaf at that moment, which I actually think she does that quite often to annoy us, the maid never helped Anna.

And so being such an independent girl like her, she tried to open the door by herself. Which at that moment, the cup slide down because of excessive oil from the Hokkien Mee. And so..*Pling-Plang-Bang* the cup was gone. I rushed towards Anna and to my horror, she's bleeding, quite badly, on the feet. I carried her up right away and put her feet under running water. AND THEN....Omg, the cut was about an inch long. Thank God I didn't faint. In fact, Anna wasn't crying over the pain, she was actually, crying over the cup, apologizing that she didn't do it on purpose. How cute is that.

Now the scenerio is in total chaos, everyone seems to be running here and there trying to be at least of help. Then my grandmother, holding a bottle of Nutmeg oil on her hand, took over the situation, with me still carrying Anna. My grandmother then pour the Nutmeg oil onto the wound, which to my imagination, could hurt very badly. As quoted from my grandmother, this will stop the bleeding. Which infact, it did. Surprised.

We then hurried Anna to the hospital, straight to the emergency ward where Anna was attended by a very nice nurse. After cleaning the wound, she then announced, "I think she needs to be stitched." Ok....Calm...We then put Anna onto a wheel chair and push her into another room, where she'll be stitched. There came the Doctor, Ben is his name. He advised that only one of us will stay with her, and Anna, with her broken voice, mentioned my name. Oh gosh, I thought.

Still, I stayed. When the nurse came in again with some horrifying looking scissors, Anna started crying out real loud. Perhaps the doctor is numb to such cries, he proceed with the stitching. Firstly he cleaned the wound. He wasn't really cleaning it, he was actually flipping it open and checking it. Yuck! and then he started stitching...OMG..it was terrible!!! The needle looked like some fish hook, and he actually poke through the flesh..and it was bleeding even more..3 stitches, and it was done. 180 bucks for all the pain and blood and horror!

Doctors, scary
